These traditional African headdresses are made of braided vegetable fibers on which are sewn elements of prestige (Cauris, shell, buttons, teeth, or bird skull ...). Marker of a high social rank and attribut of the initiates of the Bwami society, they were worn during the ceremonies more particularly during the initiatory dances.
