From the middle of the 17th century, the clock made its appearance in France by replacing the foliot mechanisms of the clocks. The cartel clock Louis XIV is a flagship model of the reign of the Sun King, it is made of horn veneer, in color and decorated with gilt bronze flowers. This miniature reproduction adopts its violin shape and floral decorations, its movement works with a built-in battery.
