She is an example of dignity, strength, grace, courage, beauty and love in what has been, and continues to be a predominantly machista Mexican society. Sophie Simone was honored to be invited by the V&A Museum in London to take part in the Frida Kahlo: Making Herself Up exhibit and gave birth to the #YoSoyFridaSSD project out of a desire to honor her through a series of portraits of strong women.
