Product description
The Mazandaran kilims are woven using local wool with natural dyes, in the most remote mountainous regions of northwest Iran. These kilims are woven on a narrow loom first, then two or more pieces are stitched together by hand to create a bigger piece. Although the process of producing these kilims is quite time consuming, the stunning result is well worth the labour. Mazandaran kilims' sophisticated and moderate approach to design, often appears noticeably modern, in its visual simplicity.
