What is Tempyo-Monyo? At the heart of the reign of Emperor Shômu, in Nara, an aristocracy borrowed from Tempio culture flourishes along with Buddhism. Many works of art and documents from this great period are carefully preserved inside the Shôsôin Pavilion within the Todaiji Temple compound. This allows the transmission of these precious treasures to future generations.
