Busts of Zarina Giovanna di Savoia and Zar Boris III of Bulgaria, who was poisoned by the Nazis in 1943 after a meeting with Hitler in which he refused to side against the Soviet Union.
The busts were found a few years ago by the person who sold them to us in the attic of the public library in Ruse. Also known as "little Vienna", the city of Ruse is the fifth largest in Bulgaria. It is in the north east, on the right bank of the Danube.
