The Mazandaran kilims are woven with natural dyes, in the most remote mountainous regions of Iran. These kilims are woven on a narrow loom first, then two or more pieces are stitched together by hand to create a bigger piece. Although the process of producing these modern looking kilim is quite time consuming, the stunning result is well worth the labour.
