Art textile:flowering karakusa vines
This product is not available on MOM anymore.
Product description
A Japanese take on the designs seen on the kasen in the Shosoin Treasure House--felt rugs believed to have been imported in the eighth century from China or central Asia. The roots of karakusa go back to floral designs on Green temple pillars. Patterns using curved lines to represent intertwined vines spread throughout the Old World. These vines are executed in mild blue thread on supple fabric, giving a strong sense of vitality. The design also expresses ideas of eternal flourishing and longevity. An ideal gift to convey congratulations on a festive occasion, or gratitude for assistance. More Decorative objects
