Drifting clouds and luan birds

“The ruler of beasts is the qilin; the ruler of birds is the luan.” This mythical bird from China is said to have red plumage interspersed with feathers of every color, and to show itself when the nation’s ruler acts righteously. Between two lines of flowering water chestnuts that symbolize the flora of the earth, large, brightly colored luan birds soar through the clouds. Woven into fabric of pellucid blue, these motifs are a heartfelt prayer for peace on Earth. A suitable piece to create a tranquil space for coming face-to-face with oneself.
