DRAGONFLY & WENDY ANDREU
Textile researcher
A graduate of the Ecole Boulle and of the Design Academy Eindhoven, Wendy Andreu works with steel, aluminum, laser, silicon, latex and cotton threads, crafting extraordinary one-off textile pieces. Is she an artisan-designer? An artist? An inventor of tradition and know-how? A researcher? She is probably a combination of all these and much more. She designs on a metal pattern according to the shape she is creating, spools a cotton thread which she then covers in latex. A fully waterproof non-woven fabric then emerges, which she has named Regen. “I like to keep an open mind when considering the connections between the materials, the people and the space. I believe the context is as important as the concept”.
