Mix earth and water and you will obtain what is called slurry. With this liquid, “as old as the world itself”, Baptiste Ymonet and Vincent Jousseaume, both fine arts graduates, cast and mould timeless ceramics. “It is an ancestral technique”, they explain, expressing surprise and joy, “with which we still make novel things”. When we met them, we stopped short in front of their creations, so accurately modern and beautiful, the result of a perfectly mastered technique. So much so that we didn’t ask anything of them except they simply produce two objects inspired by our values and history. This freedom led to the creation of the two bowls we are proposing today.
