Pier 1929

Pier 1929
Pier 1929 is named after the year when Wanchai Star Ferry Terminal was first built. Taking on a nostalgic air of colonial times, Pier 1929 is set to be a private members’ Oriental Club celebrating the art of Chinoiserie. The club will be rented out for private events and weddings, as a unique alternative to hotel weddings in HK. Its program is catered for special events, with sweeping harbour views and a connected rooftop. Entrance: The curtain wall of foliage can be viewed from afar, this can be detached easily to apply any florals fitting for the event. The copper leaf facade is of hand-painted wallpaper, with whimsical indigenous patterns of geometries, exuding an exciting, mysterious allure. Entrance foyer: the main feature of the foyer is the curved panels of our unique creation, the imperial craft Cloisonné. Each wire is bent into shape by hand, filled in enamel layer by layer with subtle gradations mimicking malachite. The antiqued ceiling tiles amplify the curved cloisonné panel creating more drama and a fun photo op from its reflections. Reception desk is made of lucite tubes top and bottom lit. Floor tiles are all hand glazed creating an aged organic jigsaw. Treillage room: An indoor garden architectural landscape of latticework with a dramatic open oval ceiling of our fern foliage wallpaper with hand embroidered embellishments sparkling in the light. The oval ceiling is evenly lit from the alcove creating a glowing skylight to amplify its space. This room is for cocktail reception to welcome guests. Bathrooms: Handpainted blue and white tiles of mythical creatures of the underwater world with large shells framed mirrors. Our Wonder Pearl Wallpaper embellished with pearls in a coral border across.
