The differentiation and distinction have been the most important premises when redeveloping the style of restaurant Kalma in La Eliana, Valencia. The contract furniture brand VICAL has offered again its services in order to develop the interior design in one of the top restaurants on the Mediterranean coast. In order to achieve the distinction that this brand always has in all restaurants in which it leaves its mark they have decided to express an individual and dissonant note so as to make this work different from all the others. The interior decorator Antonio Treviño has represented all his work on a dark background as if it were a black painting. He has given golden and velvet brush strokes on dark walls and ceilings in the main dining room, thus providing it with interesting points on which to focus your attention. For this purpose he has also used balloon lamps and velvet armchairs. With no doubt the most distinctive feature of the restaurant are the walls. In these walls we can see a real and complete universe of forms and colours. Thanks to the wallpaper Vical gives the room a New Yorker look and as a result of this a completely different appearance. We can also see how the paintings on the walls play a leading role in the development of the interior decoration of restaurant Kalma. Giant paintings filling a whole wall, rattan overlapped lights as well as the mixture of wallpaper with voluptuous mirrors achieve not only the beauty but also a rococo style that connects perfectly with the excellence and class that the brand wanted to give to the restaurant. Together with this baroque style there is a private room with baby blue walls in which the paintings still play a leading role, although it prevails an air of serenity and discretion that also provide the place with calm. It has been made so that the dinner guests can feel more relaxed since it is a smaller and more intimate area. A garden of dry and natural branches with stems and leaves in countryside green has been designed for the ceiling, thus providing the restaurant with a botanical touch and making that all the elements in earth colour such as wallpapers, together with golden and velvet elements do a puzzle assembling all pieces. Not only in this space but also in all the restaurant we can see a black marble floor with white veins that join all the decoration so that the customers can feel as if they were in any restaurant of the Big Apple.
