When redesigning this place, the architects made sure to display the relics of old times in a minimalist and industrial style. Here you can admire original bricks, barrel vaults, a 19th-century ceramic floor from Villeroy & Boch arranged in an intricate mosaic, original winding balustrades, an over 100-year-old mangle that has retired and an old hospital kitchen that was originally lit with a fire. The original decorative frescoes on the walls with a tropical palm pattern make an incredible impression. They became an inspiration to make the table arrangement designed by Joanna Wszeborowska-Kludzińska in Dwór Uphagena exotic. Joanna used the collection of her own brand Bird of Paradise, whose elements include a cotton tablecloth with a motif of a flower called the bird of paradise, i.e. strelitzia, as well as orchids, anthuriums and exotic leaves. She also chose embroidered placemats and napkins in the magenta color that is fashionable this year, and napkin rings hand-woven from raffia in South America. Delicious dishes cannot be missing at such a table. Spring at Arche Gdańsk tastes delicious.
