Hong Kong restaurant star ceiling

Magnificent custom-made starry sky installed in the main aisle of a gourmet restaurant to create a soothing, celestial atmosphere.

This star ceiling covers a surface area of 25m² and is made from 2500 x 1200mm PIXLUM "PixBOARD plaster" panels, which comply with fire standards for public buildings. The panels were screwed to a rail like any other construction panel, then finished with deep matte black paint. Unlike fiber optics, the installers didn't have to drill any holes for the 1000 or so light points. PIXLUM technology makes installation easier and less time-consuming, as the LEDs can be stuck into the panels after finishing, like tacks on a cork board. Around 1,000 "PixLEDs" in cool white and warm white in 3 light intensities were inserted to create this breathtaking starry sky. PIXLUM is a simple, innovative solution for creating wall-to-ceiling luminous backdrops using LEDs. The solution consists of a triptych: low-voltage (12V) electrically conductive panel + power supply and cable + LEDs or luminaires.
