lampshades from shuttlecocks

t the end of 2021, we were consulted by Hamburg-based interior design agency JOI-Design to create bespoke furniture elements for a new hotel brand, The Usual. Boutures was chosen to design and manufacture the lampshades, for which we proposed the solution "VBA évolution", a composite made from 80% recycled badminton shuttlecocks. In 2024, the first two hotels opened their doors in Brussels and Rotterdam: for these projects, we recycled 6743 badminton shuttlecocks, creating 481 lampshades in 2 bespoke colors: terracotta and yellow.
