PRIVATE VILLA - JAPAN
On Lake Kawaguchiko, Kengo Kuma & Associates designs a villa facing Mount Fuji. Stilfibra's Erbi chairs complete the dialogue between architecture and nature with a sustainable and essential design
In the setting suspended between water and mountains of Lake Kawaguchiko, a private villa designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates takes shape: an architecture conceived as a silent gesture towards Mount Fuji, a majestic presence and invisible axis of the entire project. The building, imagined as a boat floating on the lake, stems from the idea of a “Mount Fuji axis”: an ideal line that orients spaces, perspectives and relationships, transforming both the architecture and the interior into an immersive experience. The result is a place where human presence, lake landscape and sacred peak intertwine in perfect balance. Within this vision, Stilfibra – Erbi chairs were selected to accompany and reinforce the dialogue between material, nature and design. We supplied Erbi chairs in all colours in the range, each with an FSC-certified wooden frame, remaining consistent with the studio’s focus on responsible materials and conscious supply chains.
