Bathtub OFURO
MAOMI's OFURO translates Japanese tradition into our modern European life. The wooden bathtub can be used as a mobile bathtub in space-limited bathrooms. Thanks to its incredibly low weight of around 20 — 30 kilograms, the OFURO can be easily moved. Compared to Western bathtubs, the OFURO is smaller in the base area but higher and steeper. This is not only a space saver, but it also allows the bathing water to literally reach the neck.

Karen Swami
Karen Swami lived a thousand lives, notably in finance and film production, before developing a passion for ceramics and getting her potter's diploma. Rapidly, her monumental pieces, crafted on a wheel, became popular with a flock of collectors, architects, and interior designers, such as Alberto Pinto, Dior Maison, Bruno Moinard, Christian Liaigre, Jean Louis Deniau, and Luis Laplace. All were enchanted by their archetypal shapes, the variety of finishings, sometimes crackled, other times satiny-smooth, or smoked, and their subtle shades of color: cobalt blue, celadon green, sunny yellow, red vermillion. Over the years, her collections of stoneware vases and ceramics expanded to include tables, mirrors, or stools, always inspired by the work of our elders, or even of Old Masters. This spring, she has prepared, among other things, a major monographic exhibit of vases and stools in shagreen-style enameled stoneware, which will take place in New York starting in mid-May, at the gallery of Ateliers Courbet.
