Pelican bowl
A footed salad bowl with a belt-like detail on the rim and a gentle curvy shape. The foot helps achieve a taller vessel that will give rhythm to the table and help create an elegant and luxurious table. It is also great used as a fruit basket and placed on the table at any time. The use of white coarse clay and colored glaze give deep colors with unique variations.
As a child, this young woman with a mischievous smile already loved collecting anything she came across. She spent hours tinkering and copying plaster casts or statutes by Rodin. She also remembers that she loved hanging around the workshop of her aunt, Maguy Champsaur, a renowned ceramic artist in Marseille. So, it was only natural that, after her baccalaureate, she would sign up for the Ceramics department at the Ecole Olivier de Serre. With her diploma in hand, she joined the Lalique design studio and spent 7 years there before leaving her post to travel the world. When she returned, she opened her workshop to develop her imaginary visions and create sculptural pieces in sandstone or plaster, black or white, but always matte and wonderfully sensual. These are creations in organic shapes, with velvety textures, perfectly executed and radiating rare and powerful energy. They are available for sale at Carole Decombe's gallery in Paris and by Rose Uniacke in London.
