Didier Benderli, a timeless sort of elegance
Fascinated by the beauty and perfection of the Villa Kerylos in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, this architect named his firm "Kerylos Intérieurs" as a tribute to this sumptuous residence built at the dawn of the 20th century atop a rocky promontory on the Mediterranean coast. Rigorous and eclectic, this professional's style isn't satisfied with "nearly there", nor with pat responses that are trendy today. And he insists on it: his priority is to respect the spirit of a place, the nobility of its spaces and proportions, and create a certain rhythm by taking the original structure into account, just as he did at the Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain, an Haute-Couture hotel where he assembled three 19th-century buildings. Here, he allowed the memory of its tenants to infuse the project: James Joyce, T.S Elliott, and even Léo Ferré. Today, he's working on a 5-star property in Versailles, which should open in early 2024, alongside several residential projects in Paris, Geneva, and London, and he's also designing commercial spaces for several cultural institutions.
