For about 150 years, traditional Portuguese glassblowers have been impressing the world with their beautiful creations. Handmade moulds in which the hot glass cools down and finds its shape. The masters of this craft cut and polish the rims with the greatest attention. Every piece is unique. VAN VERRE developed unique colours for this collection, which are inspired by the famous Dutch painter Rembrandt and provide a perfect combination of both winter and summer shades. Made in 18/10 stainless steel, based on a trendily modern style, it has roots in the leaf-shaped design of the traditional north Australian tree Cupaniopsis Anacardioides where its organic shape reveals a flawless harmony with the modernism presented in the current international trends of tableware. The current project was the result of a partnership between Herdmar and the Design School of the University of Minho, which aims to promote a more pragmatic and mutually evolving development bringing the academic community closer to national industry.
