Virginie Moriette

Virginie Moriette is graduated from Ecole Nationale Supérieure of Architecture of Paris La Villette and collaborate with architect Paul Andreu. In 2006, Virginie decided to move to China and together with Xu Ming they decide to set up their own design studio. Based in Shanghai and specialized in architecture, interior design and furniture design, Studio MVW is one of the most acclaimed design studios in China. Virginie and Ming have defined a unique signature style based on a cross-cultural philosophy, innovative sculptural, architectural shapes, exceptional materials as well as excellence in craftsmanship. Though this, they have reached a level of achievement in which their interventions allow the discovery of a new esthetic, immersing us into a spirit of nature. This in turn reveal man’s relationship with environment, with an uncompromisingly strong signature style and unique design. Known for their ability to subtly connect contemporary Western and Eastern aesthetics, they have won major international awards in Asia and Europe, including Wallpaper* Design Award en 2018 and 2014 ; the AD 100 China Design Talents Award in 2017, 2015 and 2013; ELLE Decoration International Design Award in 2013, 2011, 2009 and 2006. Studio MVW creations are displayed both in China and internationally. The studio collaborates with major design producers and brands while working for prominent private clients and companies specialized in luxury, hospitality and lifestyle. Limited-edition collections are showcased by Paris-based Galerie BSL and major world fairs such as PAD London/Paris, Nomad Monaco and The Salon Art + Design in New York.
