Old Chinese white washed pots
The Silk Road Collection
These white washed pots were used as storage containers for Chinese yellow rice wine. The practice of using this kind of pots for making rice wine goes back over 2000 years, and they are still used today for traditionally made rice wine in Shaoxing, China. Some pots still carry the stamp of their rice wine maker. Every pot differs in colour & finishing. All pots can be made into a lamp on request (+€45). We also have a large selection of complementing handmade lampshades in stock, in various shapes, sizes and colours (price lists on request).
Inspired by the highly sculptural and beautifully detailed porcelain of the 19th century Empire period, the Swan bowls proudly nod to antiquity with unmistakable modern grace. From the luminescent, hand-gilded 24K gold of the bowl to the silky feathers on the curve of the neck, each piece is a singular and exquisite work of art, sculpted and finished entirely by hand. The collection includes a medium + large bowl and a salt cellar, each available in white or black.

The Bakuba Throw is inspired by the Kuba cloth, which has been woven for centuries in Central Africa by the people of the Kuba Kingdom. The Kuba Cloth has become one of the most visually exciting fabrics in the world and has influenced many artists including Matisse and Picasso. Our own interest in this wonderful and unique African textile inspired the design of the Bakuba throw and it's bold rhythmic pattern. Woven in Plettenberg Bay for 100% cotton, grown in Swaziland.
