WHAT'S NEW? « New Traditional » by François Delclaux
François Delclaux addresses the popular movement in favor of ultra-localism and describes a renewed, creative traditionalism, where it's the place itself that gives projects their "shape". Well beyond its simple ethnic dimension, this trend includes a new cultural and heritage-led philosophy that places the "terroir", the artisan, local craftsmanship, its traditions, and the material at the core of object production. This approach is also reinforced with an outlook that includes environmental responsibility, social equity, and sustainable development.

Korea Ceramic Master Kwon Tae-hyun
"Adding the Beauty of Celadon to Practicality", Master Kwon Tae-hyun of Hyo Chun Pottery. “The relief designs under the glaze are what makes my celadon stand out. The harmony between cel- adon and relief design creates a feeling of Kore- an-ness, but also goes with western cuisine and ta- ble settings,” he said. “My works are popular with both Koreans and people from all over the world. I plan to develop more tech- niques and to make pottery that is loved by an even wider audience.”
