Tokusa
Rice bowl with classic “Tokusa” pattern - vertical striped pattern named after the horsetail family plants. A pattern loved since the Edo period (1603-1868) for Tokusa symbolizes growth and prosperity. Each piece is hand painted by skilled artisans. Brush strokes are each unique and no two are alike. Rich, earthy textures derived from rough earthen like iron powders and pale pink spots called “gohonte” are all quaint charms to be loved and enjoyed.
