Fragment - Draped Aphrodite

Nike with sandal : Greek art reproduction from the XIXth century, it is one of the South side sculpted friezes which went around the Athena Nike temple in Athens. Shown leaning forward, maybe to undo her sandal and walk barefoot towards the altar which must have been in front of her, but which, alas, has been lost. (Circa 420-410 B.C, Acropolis Museum). Cast done in papier mâché in beautiful stone-like shades.
