STORIES OF ITALY

Nougat Autumn Tall Vase

This collection is another result of our tests with Murano blown glass. The patterns on these vases and glasses, always different from each other, are achieved by using pieces and shards of previously blown glass. The transparent colored shards are fused against an opaque white glass which works as a perfect background for this contemporary terrazzo-like pattern.

Atelier Franca: sensitive design

Behind Atelier Franca lies two young women from Marseille with Corsican roots, France Bocognani and Caroline Bartoli, united by the same passion: ceramics and the mixed clay that they bring to life with mad talent. So very creative, this joyful, sunny duo, who preach the "slow-made" gospel, create table settings together, as well as vases, candlesticks and stone- and earthenware lighting fixtures, always inspired by the Mediterranean, architectural elements, travel, and the artwork of Capron, Fernand Léger or Picasso. After working for Merci, Sessun and Enamoura, this pair is undertaking a collaboration this Autumn with La Couronne, a baptismal-medal specialist, envisioning a debut collection of ceramic tiles in mixed clay, and offering a range of vases made from shell fragments and broken ceramics. In this special preview, they present their selection, which is all about handicrafts and natural materials. franca.ateliere@gmail.com
