Sculptural Confluence part 1 by Bob Verhelst
From his carefully constructed portfolio, Serax made a first selection for launch in 2024. This collection includes a range of vases, mood lamps, trays, multi-functionalside tables and an armchair. Although Verhelst does not like fleeting trends, he draws inspiration from the Bauhaus movement, Eileen Gray and Miro. He translates his graphic work and sculptures into tangible objects in wood and ceramics, where geometric shapes dominate and bright and earthy colours alternate. Verhelst has no specific in mind when he design sbut trusts that his creations will find their way to the right place.
Samy Rio, sustainably committed
How does one design in an era of ecological transition? This is the question that motivates this gifted designer, a winner of the Grand Prix at the Design Parade in Hyères, after training in woodworking and a course of study at ENSCI. Since 2015 and the creation of his studio, he has been working hand-in-hand with both industry and artisans and carrying out a multitude of experiments with glass, ceramics and bamboo during his residences at the Cirva in Marseille, at Sèvres and at Ateliers Luma, unceasingly exploring objects, materials and the way they are made. Totally committed, his design is sensitive, fair, humble and ethical, much like that of François Champsaur, with whom he's envisioning a platform to bring together designers, artisans and architects who are ready to meet the environmental challenges of our time.
