Gradient (Ikat/tie-dyed) Cotton Throws
Ikat fabric is created through a unique dyeing method that results in distinct textile patterns. This process involves resist dyeing specific sections of yarn before weaving the fabric. In ikat, artisans achieve the resist effect by tightly wrapping individual yarns or groups in a chosen pattern. Skilled artisans from Laos meticulously handcraft Ikat fabrics, from spinning cotton into yarn and dyeing it, to resist-dyeing the warp, aligning patterns during loom threading, and finally hand-weaving the fabric. Each fabric piece is one-of-a-kind, highlighting its unique features.
