The creation of Barbotine Ciselet is deeply humanistic. It aims to confront contemporary reality, its small and large flaws, and an imagination from childhood strongly imbued with the proximity between humans and animals
Barbotine has been creating her worlds for more than 10 years in a permanent « back and forth » between the beauty of reality and the imagination of childhood.
In the "everyday life" series, the woman, the man, the child show themselves without concession but not without humor and even less without love : far from the aesthetic canons, from the perfect and meticulous work - sometimes to the point of caricature – the characters of Barbotine take the opposite view of the “beauty of reality”, in all its imperfection.
