"Nuf means 'to sew' in old Japanese writing. NufDesign creates unique textile jewelry by recycling authentic Japanese Kimonos, using both hand and machine sewing. Each piece is handcrafted in Barcelona, available as limited editions.

Founder of NufDesign, Yumi Kato is a Japanese designer/crafter based in Barcelona. Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. NufDesign crafts unique textile jewelry from recycled Kimono silk. Japanese Kimonos are renowned worldwide for their high-quality craftsmanship and original designs. We repurpose Kimonos that have lost their value as clothing due to stains, holes, and other imperfections, transforming them into wearable art through hand and machine sewing. NufDesign pieces perfectly complement Western fashion and are available only as limited editions or one-of-a-kind creations.
