The glassblower envisions her pitcher for example as a beautiful everyday object, one that must combine an emotionally expressive form with technical functionality.

Yuriko transforms glass into a molten state at over 1,150 degrees at the end of a blowpipe. She creates functional objects in blown glass: tableware and other interior decorations. Her pieces are entirely handmade at every stage of the process, making each one unique and marked by subtle tool traces. They have charm, warmth, and softness—qualities that result from freehand glassblowing. These are living works of art, meant to be used in everyday life to brighten the home.
