Kiner Ceramics is a Basel-based studio that creates unique, versatile objects that are both sculptural and utilitarian, blending the boundaries between craft, art and design.

Esther Kiner translates her fascination for the high alpine landscapes, the simplicity of megalithic or brutalist architecture into the formal language of her ceramics. The objects she develops express the sobriety and calming strength of the mountains. She explores what lies hidden in the fragility of nature and the human being, with all the imperfections, inconsistencies and emotions that that entails. Working on different scales, from wall hooks over side tables to vases, she creates small series or realizes tailormade customer projects such as tiles, wall shelves or candleholders.
