Konrad Koppold - Wooden Objects

Local woods, preferably oak, form the base for my wooden objects. The brushed outer surface of the works reveals the individual grain of the wood. I like to play with the colouring properties of tannic acid, which oak wood contains naturally, to obtain variability in the final surface colouring of my vessels. I combine clear design with the living structure of the wood and do not only create visually but also haptically impressive individual pieces touching the viewer by its form and emotionally.
