HUGO DÉCORATEUR
The home of Victor Hugo and his family
Today, in the Place des Vosges, the apartment occupied by Victor Hugo from 1832 to 1848, then located on the Place Royale, retraces the writer's entire life through the three major periods he himself outlined in *Acts and Words*: before exile, during exile, and after exile. Founded by Paul Meurice in 1902, who donated his collections to the City of Paris, the Maison de Victor Hugo houses a significant collection of drawings, paintings, photographs, and sculptures.
