CLEO JOFFRE STUDIO

The quest for delicacy, subtlety and simplicity is at the very heart of Cléo Joffre’s work as a young ceramic artist. She works with porcelain, a material recognized for its finesse and strength allowing a great freedom of expression in her artwork.

Her pieces are mainly the original white porcelain colour while others break from the conventional code using a tinted base material. Cléo Joffre studied design at Ecole Olivier de Serres in Paris, she spent time in Japan being trained in Kyoto she learnt the art of patience and the importance of detail but above all she learnt respect for the objects and their importance in our daily lives. Returning from Japan, she created the "Maeko" jug, inspired by the folded paper shapes of origami, this elegant design has then been applied to other tableware.
