Founded in 1923 in Kanda, Tokyo, Nakamura has long specialized in kimono care as a shikkaiya, coordinating skilled artisans for textile maintenance. In recent years, the company has focused on producing noren, traditional Japanese fabric dividers and decorative textiles. Combining techniques such as indigo dyeing and hand-painting with modern methods, Nakamura creates noren that express both historical and contemporary craftsmanship, sharing the spirit of Japanese tradition in Japan and abroad.
