Founded in 1921, Matsuzaki Ningyo is a brand specialized in making traditional Japanese dolls and specializing in the Kimekomi technique, where molds made of clay and wood are cut to create grooves in which artisans line traditional Japanese fabrics creating a patchwork of traditional patterns on the doll or animal. The ANIMA series is a collection of decorative animals (Rhinos, Birds, Insects) developed from the traditional know-how of Matsuzaki Ningyo.
