Product description

This folding screen is made of kumiko-zaiku, a traditional Japanese craft that combines thin pieces of wood without using nails to create intricate geometric patterns.The shape of the cherry petals is original to Shiozawa Kogei and uses the 'bending' technique of Kumiko work. The wood is not coloured, it is all natural wood, and is made from a special black wood called 'Jindai', which has been buried underground for more than 1,000 years.
