Product description
Mareike Lienau has designed an object made of wool that pays homage to the concept and proportions of the stone garden Ryōan-ji in the Japanese Zen temple. Lienau's Ryōan-ji object echoes this idea of the blind spot, reflecting the impact and constant presence of this blind spot in every interaction or endeavour. The circular element of the design, a nest of wool, symbolises the blind spot and at the same time provides a place to sit and reflect, while the graphic lines are reminiscent of the rock garden area. It is a reminder of what we do and what we fail to see at all times.
