Emily is a series of lampshades that can be suspended in relation to one another, creating a floating landscape of light. Installation height and chromatic arrangement modulate its character, redrawing how the room is read. Each shade is shaped by hand: cutting, bending, forming, welding and sanding. A complex physical process that gives Emily its natural, organic geometry. The series was inspired by the "James Bond Islands" series by Andreas Gursky, where digitally arranged landforms appear to float above a flat horizon line, a harmony of forms.
