Emily is a family of lampshades that layer freely above one another to build a suspended landscape of light. The suspension height and the pairing of tones shift its character and redefine how the room is read. Cutting, folding, shaping, welding, and sanding are all carried out manually by skilled craftspeople. A refined artisanal process that lends Emily its natural, organic geometry. The series draws on Andreas Gursky's James Bond Islands, where digitally arranged landforms appear to float above a flat horizon, sculpted light.
