This lampshade is made from URCYL, a material using only wood powder and natural urushi. By redefining urushi through modern science with the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Technology Research Institute, we created this new sustainable material. URCYL’s concept is “don’t throw it away—repair it.” Patents are granted in Japan and the EU, and we seek licensing partners for product development.
