The Shopping Cart Chair repurposes a discarded shopping cart into a piece of seating furniture through a minimal intervention. The chair is made entirely from existing parts of the original cart. By carefully rearranging these parts, the object is held together by tension and the inherent resilience of the structure. The original identity remains clearly visible, while the function shifts from movement to stillness. The work retains the industrial character of the shopping cart and its history of movement, but redefines it as an object to be inhabited rather than used for transport.
