Meridian incorporates original fragments of 300-year-old sailors’ correspondence and navigational charts, carefully embedded within the board’s surface. Historic routes, compass roses, and handwritten annotations become part of a contemporary composition, layered with expressive hand-painted gestures that unite past and present. Inspired by the unseen lines that once guided explorers across open waters, the work speaks to direction, purpose, and the enduring instinct to seek what lies beyond the horizon. The artwork continues across NADALI’s signature Equilibrium figures, each individually hand-painted so that the board and pieces become a single, uninterrupted composition.
