In the early 1980s, Citroën saw Méhari sales decline and tried to give it new appeal by creating a limited edition… or rather two! In 1983, Citroën introduced two new versions: the Azur, in blue and white, and the Plage, available exclusively in Atacama yellow. Both versions were built at the Mangualde factory in Portugal and never crossed paths on the market, as the Méhari Plage was reserved for the Spanish and Portuguese markets only, while the Méhari Azur was sold across the rest of Europe. The Norev miniature features all the specific details of this very rare series: perforated wheel rims, a yellow hood, yellow and white striped seat upholstery, and of course the specific Plage badging.
