Flat hand-painted earthenware bottle, made in Slovakia. Circular body, short neck surrounded by purple and yellow, four loops with yellow tips, two of which serve as feet. Milky white enamel, polychrome decoration of blue, green, golden yellow and manganese violet. On one side, a bird in a medallion surrounded by yellow, surrounded by a crown of blue flowers and green foliage. On the other, a bouquet of yellow flowers with a purple heart, framed by palmettes and small blue flowers. The edge is decorated with blue lines and yellow dots. The reverse bears the inscription “MODRA”, the number 92 and the painter's initials, drawn by hand. Modra, a small wine-growing town northeast of Bratislava, has been a popular earthenware center since the 17th century, in the tradition of Haban earthenware makers, and the flat gourd with loops belongs to the traditional repertoire of its workshops. Manufacture from the second half of the 20th century, the number 92 being able to designate the year 1992 or a model number. This bottle can be placed on a shelf, console, sideboard or window sill, alone or with other popular ceramics. Its bold colors can be suitable for a bohemian chic decoration or for a more refined interior. Height: 24.5 cm, width: 19 cm, depth: 4.6 cm.
