Wall decoration: batonga basket, isangwa
This product is not available on MOM anymore.
Product description
The BaTonga are among the original inhabitants of the southern African region, living in southern Zambia and northern Zimbabwe. The Isangwa baskets of the Batonga people, also called Tonga baskets, are woven by the inhabitants of the Zambezi Valley. Originally, these baskets were used for winnowing. Raw palm fibers blend harmoniously with naturally dyed fibers, creating strikingly modern graphic patterns. Diverted from their traditional use, these baskets are now unique wall decoration elements and table accessories! More Decorative objects
