AS'ART A SENSE OF CRAFTS

Fully aware of what a craft object is, in its sometimes archaic conception, in its daily use or its esthetic value, AS’ART is actively promoting craftmanship in the belief that it has a real sustainable future.

AS’ART was created in 1991 following a passion for rural traditions, materials and skills. We deliberately orientate our offer into a global concept of interior decoration by proposing handcrafted creations from rattan furniture to lighting (Stellar), including spectacular decorative pieces (basketry, pottery, ethnographic objects) and a brand new textile collection (Vallon), made in France. AS’ART is located in an old mill, 70 km north of Paris, a unique place dedicated to our trade customers.

Eager to produce a textile line for the home such as throws and cushions, and to explore the possibility of manufacturing this new concept in France where, as everywhere in the world, the safeguarding of artisanal know-how is an essential and even existential subject, we are delighted to have created exclusive pieces with a strong and original character.

Always in love with the Danish PH suspension lamps designed by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen in the 1920's, and wanting to present objects born from this mix of North and South, Scandinavian style and "ethnic" style, it appeared that we could sublimate our basketry made of telephone wire by making lighting with pure lines
