Product description
Large ceramic handmade coil-built vases, glazed inside, burnished on the outside. The finish is obtained by pit-firing technique, an ancient, primitive method of firing unglazed ceramics. The different shades range from white to brown/black obtained through the interplay of smoke, fire and combustible plant materials. The result are expressive pieces, with a silky, stone-like shine due to the high polishing technique of clay. They are totally unique objects due to the unpredictability of pit-firing. Finally, “imperfections” in the objects are enhanced by the Kintsugi method of applying gold. More Vases
